Claire you would have HATED it!

So, no amber rain warnings but definitely a distinct headwind all the way to Taunton. The decision to cycle from North to South for the trip over Easter against the prevailing winds, is definitely going to be tougher than South to North- all 'downhill' jokes aside. Cycling for two hours against the wind is annoying. God only knows what 10 days worth will be like.
Left at half 8 this morning- and the sun came out after Bristol Airport. Which, by the way, is all up hill. Funny I've never really noticed the hills on the way to the airport until today isn't it?!
Up hills equals downhills and topped 46mph on the other side- wooosh! :)

A38 all the way to Bridgewater and then on to Taunton where I didn't stop for lunch but found a pub just outside.

Going 46mph down a hill on the way to Taunton meant going back up it at an incredibly slow and painful pace. But I made it and was greeted with a beautiful view of Bristol Airport.

Made a little detour to see my Ma and Pa. Greeted with a nice glass of squash, a "well done and that's super"  and also  "please don't sit on the cushions".

In other news, no chaffage to speak of and no aches or pains... just exhaustion and a pile of literacy books to mark- AND a wonderful sweet potato and parmesan home cooked lasagne made by the my cycling coach- Danie.

Thank you to those who have sponsored me already-, in fact super thank you!... and to those of you who'd like to; there's a link at the top of the page! :)

'Buena noche' as they say in Bridgewater.

First ride of many... Lydney- Coleford-Chepstow-Home.
So... the first ride of my training took this place on Saturday this weekend. Sunshine and warm weather-  a far cry from driving rain in the highlands of Scotland but a start none the less.
Danie came along too and we managed about 50miles in 4 hours. No chaffing or nothing.
Few hills along the way but no tears or punctures.

In other news;
I bought a scratchcard in Newport and won £25 and whilst I was paying for it a 25yr old skater from Newport told me that he'd only just tried on US Navy Jacket; "leather on the arms like, all nice and wool on the inside... gotta tell you man, I hadda take it off-I was sweatin in 30 seconds. mental"
